• 3.09 - present: Youth Art Class

Every Friday, we discuss various hadiths/texts from the Qur'an and create art work inspired from our discussions. Different mediums are also introduced including: oil pastels, watercolors, pastel-scratch. The goal is to learn and remember selected hadiths while having fun experimenting with various mediums.

Location: Masjid Ibrahim @ 5:00 pm on Fridays

• 6.1.08 - 6.15.08: Partners of the Americas Smoking Cessation Poster Contest

..

For 2 weeks, we were in Panama recruiting students from the University of Panama to participate in a smoking cessation campaign poster contest. Over 35 students developed 32 posters from 5 different faculties. An art exhibit of 15 selected posters were presented on campus, and students voted which poster relayed the most compelling message.

And yes, not only did we visit the Panama Canal, we had the privelege to open a lock :)
